Saucy Sunday : Jalapeño Cheddar Sauce

Thank gosh we have football back. Am I right?

It’s game day ya’ll! Every football game needs a cheese partner, and I have the perfect one! This Jalapeño Cheddar sauce is everything. Hello pretzel dip, chip dip, quesadilla upgrade… or, stay tuned for tonights dinner: Turkey Cheesesteak Skillet featuring THIS sauce! Dude, done.

What You’ll Need:

-1 cup heavy cream

-2 teaspoons dijon mustard

-4 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese

-1 oz shredded pepper jack cheese

-1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

-2 teaspoons minced jalapeno

-salt - to taste

-2 oz cream cheese, room temp, cubed

Method:

Heat heavy cream over medium heat and add mustard - stir to combine.

Add cheddar and pepper jack cheeses - stir to combine until mostly melted.

Stir in smoked paprika and jalapeno - might need to switch to a whisk to help incorporate ingredients. (If you don’t have a silicone whisk, I highly suggest adding one to your next order!)

Add salt to taste.

Add cream cheese and bring sauce to soft simmer, continuing to stir.

Taste for seasoning, remove from heat.

*Sauce will thicken as it cools. Keeps in fridge for about a week, but you may need a bit more cream when heating to help with thickness.
