Saucy Sunday : Tomato Jam
A sweet and savory spread made with fresh tomatoes, brown sugar, and some fun spices - cooked down to jam consistency and enjoyed on just about anything.
If you saw my Fathead Pizza Crust Chronicles on Friday via Instagram, you’d notice this jam was the star base layer. Did not disappoint my friends!
What You’ll Need:
-1.5# fresh tomatoes (I used a mixture of cherry and campari)
-1/2 cup brown sugar
-1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
-1 tablespoon fresh ginger
-1 teaspoon salt
-1 teaspoon cumin
-1 teaspoon smoked paprika
-1 teaspoon chili flakes
Method:
Everybody in the saute pot, stir to combine. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 2-2.5 hours or until thick and jam-like. Enjoy with cheese and crackers, use as a pizza sauce base, incorporate into soups, or add to roasted chicken and vegetables.
