Lasagna Skillet - Episode: Venison
Cheesy, melty, savory, bubbly and made all in one pot! While I used venison, you could use anything you like - ground turkey, beef, chicken..anything!
-1# venison..or whatever
-1 tablespoon oil
-salt and pepper to taste
-1 small yellow onion diced
-2 cups uncooked pasta
-24 ounces pasta sauce - your choice!
-1/4 - 1/2 cup water
-1 cup shredded mozzarella
-1/4 - 1/2 cup shredded fresh parmesan
-ricotta cheese
-chopped parsley for garnish
-Swirl the oil in your skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook about 3 minutes.
-Add ground meat, salt and pepper, and italian seasoning
-Cook about 5 minutes
-Add pasta sauce, water, and uncooked pasta
-Simmer 10-12 minutes or until pasta is tender (you may need to adjust your heat here and/or add in a bit more water - cast iron pans distribute heat quickly and differently)
-Turn on your broiler
-Turn off heat on pasta, sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese - add ricotta cheese in small dollops throughout top of dish
-Broil 2-3 minutes or until golden and bubbly everywhere
-Top with parsley, let cool for a few minutes and serve
