Saucy Sunday : Set And Forget
Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings … Slow Cooker Style
You all know I love football. That means I love to actually watch the game - I don’t want to be in the kitchen the whole time making food and missing all the action! Since my team played prime time tonight, I needed an easy, no fail, set and forget dinner! Oh, delicious was the other stipulation!
What You’ll Need:
-2.5 pounds chicken wings
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-1/2 teaspoon pepper
-1/2 teaspoon onion powder
-4 tablespoons unsalted butter
-4 garlic cloves - minced
-1/2 cup shredded parmesan
-parsley for garnish
Method:
Load wings into slow cooker, toss in salt, pepper, and onion powder - stir to combine and coat evenly.
In a small saucepan, melt butter and add garlic - let cook just for a couple of minutes until fragrant, then add butter mixture to chicken wings. Toss to coat evenly. *Butter will likely seize and harden again as chicken wings are cold - this is ok. Set slow cooker for 3 hours.
Stir chicken wings every so often to coat and ‘baste’ with butter sauce.
Remove from crockpot after 3 hours, and place on foil lined baking sheet. Broil until starting to golden - about 4-5 minutes. Remove from oven, top with parmesan cheese, and place back in broiler for another 1-2 minutes to melt and crisp up the cheese.
Transfer wings to bowl or serving dish, garnish with chopped parsley and a tiny sprinkling of parmesan.
